It's not new that the Ogun State Polytechnic, Ipokia students is yet to resume for the first semester even after being admitted since last year December 2018. And this is strike Mapoly has been having since last year due to the issue of transition transmission (lol *wink) upgrading of Moshood Abiola Polytechnic to a University and the of (OgunPoly) the new polytechnic.
The Governor of Ogun state, Amosun still insisting that lecturers from Mapoly need to move to Ogun State Poly, Ipokia to start with the new students and the lecturers is not happy with the idea of the governor.
The new students as well express their fear of how living life in the new site of Ipokia will be inconducive for them. Some of the students already rent an apartment here in Ojere city and there have been worried that if moving to Ipokia clicked, what will they do with the house they already paid for.
Has stated earlier that Mapoly is set to resume the 208/2019 session in April, this might have to change again. Mapoly will go on strike immediately after the exam ends on April 13th until May 29th that Amosun will hand over to the new government with the hope that the new governor will nullify Amosun's decision of moving the lecturers and students to kick off the new Polytechnic.
We hereby implore that the new ND intake of Ogun State Polytechnic, Ipokia to exercise patience until when the government and the school management will finalize the issue on ground.
