MAUSTECH Unrealistic, ‘A Wild Goose Chase’ – ASUP

The Academic Staff Union of Polytechnic (ASUP), Moshood Abiola Polytechnic, (MAPOLY) branch, Abeokuta, has described as a ‘wild goose chase’, the plan by the Ogun State Government to establish Moshood Abiola University of Science and Technology, in Abeokuta, the state capital.

The union, equally expressed doubts over the state government’s capacity and ability to fund the new university in a sustainable manner, considering that salaries of the MAPOLY staff were being paid from students’ school fees.

Rising from a special congress to review the proposed university, yesterday, the union, in a communiqué signed by the ASUP state chairman, Mr. Kola Abiola, the union declared it no longer have confidence in the membership and activities of the transition committee led by former Executive Secretary, National University Commission, Prof. Peter Okebukola.

The communiqué read in part: “What are the resources on ground to facilitate the approval to commence operations in the proposed Ogun State Polytechnic? How is MAUSTECH and the new Ogun State Polytechnic going to be funded, especially the funding of overhead costs in the short run?

“How do we ensure on a sustainable basis, the payment of salaries of over seven hundred (700) existing staff of MAPOLY? This is a pertinent question, given the fact that presently, salaries are mainly sourced from school fees paid and especially now that admission is being suspended and even the new university and Ogun State Polytechnic will of necessity admit less numbers of students (both being new institutions of learning respectively?”

The union, however, noted that the transition committee had lost its relevance, submitting “ASUP MAPOLY chapter is strongly in support of the establishment of Moshood Abiola University of Science and Technology.”

NAOSS KANGAROO ELECTION ENDS

According to a popular saying that goes thus: "our lives begin  to end when we remain silent to things that matter most to us but our lives will change passively only if we are ready to speak against what's against us".
It's no more a news, that students struggle as been politics beyond remedy but I stood firmly and bond against such  statement during my mission and vision to leave a formidable and unforgettable imprint in NANS OGUN JJC which was monopolised by some ghost workers that believed power should be in their custody for life.
At the end, I give glory to almighty God for where I am presently and where am heading to. Had it been I emerged as the NANS JCC chairman I might not witness, involve or participate in this just concluded purported National Association of Ogun State Students (NAOSS)election that supposed to take place in a reputable tertiary institution that was fixed to hold at Ijeja sports complex, abeokuta but later held at Nuj popularly know as iwe -iroyin through the serious intervention of policemen from  Ibara police station division headquarter led by the D. P. O himself.
I thought, manipulation is only found in some institution SUG election and  NANS election generally but to my greatest disappointment and surprised, such act as arrived multiple and vigorously utilised in the just concluded NAOSS national election.
If that happened to be the only instruments that was used for the election could be enough but numerous  distractions ,intimidations,  unmerited disqualification of over qualified aspirants were disqualified but to mentioned few was also used just for them to freeze the power that belongs to billions of Ogun state indegine is been fraternised by some purported imposition cabal caucus that believe in manipulation of students interest is their achievements.

-
To Rudiment :
If I will advice you, sincerely you did not  lose the election but as you've been able to prove to the whole world that you are not a politician that negotiate students interest for personal upliftment/appointment neither a power tussle type that look for power by all means but a good AMBASADOR of Ogun state and Nigeria as a whole for challenging unchallengeable authorities in the state, also for displaying some spirit of  statesmanship without forgetting the fact that you embraced peace and unity for the better and the way forward of all Ogun state students.
I urge you not to form any faction, be focus, determine for your followers and favourites not to be disappointed in you.
And this will serve as a chronic and unforgettable lesson to you that no one can be trusted because your problems emendated from the trust you dashed out to betrayer friend of different politicking.
-

To Electoral Committee :
I salute your sane mentality for allowing your body to be manipulated politically for disqualifying formidable aspirants that have good will for the masses which happened to be the genesis of the crisis that led to the lose of  Rudiment election. But, I strongly believe you and I will meet again till then I keep my words for you all.

-
To the Master minder :
It's quite unfortunate that this write is coming from the boy you once tagged as anti-government before I proved you wrong, you once cut my dream short unexpected through your maladministration ideology, you once proved to me that your enemy can also be needful and helpful in times of need/difficulties but the one you venture now is highly barbaric and satanic to human kind and students struggle at large.
I pray you should not rethink neither retire till you monopolise and  jeopardizes your unborn generation future... Amen!

-
To policemen:
First, in history of my life that I will witness the sincerity and versatility of Nigerian policemen,if the maturity displayed by Ibara policemen and the DPO can be imitate this country will move beyond where its presently. Kudos to you all and I urge you not to stop your good work.
Am proud of  Nigerian police force.

-
To NAOSS National body :
I congratulate you as you welcome politics and politicians to your personality  which will dent your reputation and integrity soonest.
I also want you to get prepared as " ONE  PERSON WILL NOW RULE YOU FOR MORE THAN YEAR AGAIN LIKE NEVER BEFORE!.
EKU AMOJUBA.

-
To leaders :
Unsalted are the bad eggs under the good ones, but I believe there will be a day,one unforgettable day that will testify and disgrace the works of every one that do  played dictatorship and manipulation role in students struggle that is meant to be free, fair and credible which is now politics for personal gains and stupidity.
You will all be remembered for your positive/negative impacts on the day of  justification soonest by God's grace.

-
To the winner :
Congratulations and enjoy the power.

-
To students :
I salute your tenacity and courage for your stand bye and unforgettable protest you fronted for the voices of masses to be heard.
I say thanks to all of you that stood gallantly behind RUDIMENT.

-
To you readers, thanks for your time and let's all continue to pray for Comrade Alao Azeez Adelani aka RUDIMENT for his life not to be cut short as they've being threatening him again!
